Counselling

Most people face situations in their lives when it seems there is no solution to their crisis, challenge or problem. It appears that there is no possible way to make progress. Chatting with someone who genuinely cares about your challenges and troubles and who is trained to help you discover possible solutions is often all that is required. Our counsellors are available to help you discover options, possibilities and to explore solutions. They are professionally trained.

Thanks for visiting our website. The Church Counselling Service is a non-profit community service agency which is available to anyone. Although based on the Christian ethic for clients from a different orientation the Service provides high quality professional help regardless of religion, lifestyle, sex or race.

Why do people seek Counsellors?

Counselling is not simply for people who are in crisis and unable to cope.  Individuals, couples, families, schools and corporations seek help when they experience:

  • Conflict and critical decisions need to be made
  • Changes individually, in the family or corporately
  • A struggle to discover meaning for life
  • Relationship issues
  • Problems which dominate and are overwhelming
  • A need to improve the quality of their relationships
  • The desire to build a new life
  • The need to overcome a difficult childhood
  • Career dissatisfaction

How does Counselling proceed?

The first session helps the Counsellor understand why you have sought counselling.   At the conclusion of that first session the Counsellor advises whether further counselling would be helpful.   Each session will hone in on client concerns and the client will be assisted in exploring options aimed at healthy resolutions.  Counselling proceeds at a pace you’re comfortable with.
